Quick start
Install, run the first scan, and understand the three ideas everything else builds on.

AgentHub is a fully local desktop app. It does not take over your accounts, upload any file, and every write happens in a path you can see.
Install
Grab the installer for your platform from GitHub Releases:
- macOS —
.dmg, Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 12 or later. - Windows —
.msi, x64, Windows 10 1809 or later.
The first launch runs a full scan automatically. Depending on how many files live in your skills directories, expect a few hundred milliseconds to about two seconds.
What you see on first open
- Overview — a resource graph: the canonical store connects to every agent you have installed, and the edges are coloured by state (green = managed, copper = duplicates waiting, coral = broken link).
- Skills — grouped by skill name, duplicates flagged, with a live footer showing “N selected · X reclaimable”.
- Agent environments — detection results for each agent’s CLI, app bundle and config directory.
Three ideas worth understanding first
The canonical store
One skill, one real copy. It lives in the store directory (under ~/.agenthub by default). Everywhere else keeps a link, not a duplicate.
Links
Chosen per platform, with precedence per-skill override > global default > platform default.
| Platform | Default | Fallback |
|---|---|---|
| macOS / Linux | symlink | hard link → copy |
| Windows | junction | hard link → copy |
Plans
Nothing is written directly. You get a plan that lists every create, overwrite and delete with its diff; only after you confirm does it apply, and the original content is backed up so the whole batch can be rolled back.
Read-only zones (for example a read-only skill shipped by an agent) are never taken over and never rewritten.
