Skills
Detecting duplicates, collapsing them into a canonical store, per-skill link strategy and the exclusive-skill allowlist.

The skill library does three things: find duplicates, collapse the real copy, and link it back per platform.
How duplicates are detected
Grouping is by directory name, so ~/.claude/skills/pdf and ~/.codex/skills/pdf land in the same group. Each row shows its path, source, link state, tree hash, size and modification time.
Differences are highlighted in yellow. Pick one row as the baseline and choose “converge to this one” — the plan is generated with that baseline baked in.
What convergence looks like
- Exactly one real copy, inside the canonical store.
- Every other location becomes a link to it.
- Each row still shows its original path, with the link state reading “managed”.
Deleting the real copy removes the links pointing at it by default, so nothing dangles. The batch can be rolled back, and links are rebuilt toward their original targets.
Per-skill link strategy
You can override the global default for a single skill:
| Strategy | When to use |
|---|---|
| Symlink | Default on macOS / Linux; one edit propagates everywhere |
| Junction | Default on Windows; transparent to tooling |
| Hard link | When the filesystem refuses symlinks |
| Copy | When the target tool rewrites file contents itself |
Precedence is fixed: per-skill > global default > platform default. The choice is stored in config.json.
Exclusive-skill allowlist
Some skills are one agent’s own implementation (think computer-use) and are not portable. Collapsing those only creates problems, so they are allowlisted by default:
- excluded from dedupe takeover
- excluded from link repair
- excluded from the “reclaimable space” figure
Right-click a row in the skill library to toggle the flag.
Installing from the marketplace
The “Install from marketplace” button opens an in-page overlay. The default registry is SkillHub, switchable to ClawHub in settings. Installation follows the same path as any other write: cache first, then move into the canonical store, then link into the agents you selected — all through the plan drawer.
Skills flagged as malicious are refused outright. Suspicious ones enter the plan as warnings, and you decide.
